This morning when I attempted to create an account I ran into some problems. I am not completely sure what happened, but I think I used an unrecognizable character in my user name or password. As a result, it sent me to the ERROR- POST page, and then to the ERROR-SYNTAX page.
I think the simple solution would be to put a little blurb in the "create an account" section that explains what is allowed.
I think I am the first person to get an error message since it has posted! wohoooo
Good catch, David! The error
Good catch, David! The error probably came from a space in your username. Both your username and password need to have only alpha-numeric characters in them, which means only letters and numbers. A more detailed explanation of the account setup process should appear on the site soon!

I exist only mostly
Hello,
I had the same problem as David Zimmel did, (i think) although according to the standards David Salmon just mentioned for username and password i had valid entries. I attempted to create an account, and it didn't work, but I had to go to class. When I got back, I tried to create an account again. This time i used the same username and password, and it said username already exists. So, I figured my first attempt had worked, and I logged in with that username and password and it worked. Only problem was I did not have a profile anywhere.
Thanks for the help all!
Ben
An early shot at Standards
Alright, here's a shot at some standards when you're creating an account. This should appear on the site later today, i.e. after 5:00.
First and last name: self-explanatory, unless you're name includes an @ or a $, in which case.
Branch: has to be your branch, as it appears on the front page. Y'all in campus and action, we're working on a way to indicate that. For now just enter your branch. Caps matter.
Email: anything that looks like a real email.
Username: has to be alpha-numeric.
Password: also has to be alpha-numeric.

Update on branches
I modified the branches field in the registration form, so that it's a drop-down menu. Also, if you edit your profile, you can now select a division.
