Hello all,
Just thought I'd share this tool with those that might be interested, particularly after hearing about the all the new work at One:Ten during the last Citybuilder videocast.
So, maybe this will be helpful, and maybe not. But as I heard David and Jeremy describe the different issues that they were running into throughout the development lifecycle of the new LaSalle Company website, this tool came to mind. It maybe more than necessary, but I have found it to be quite useful and regular utilized among software and web development & support teams.
The tool is called WebEx Recorder. Its a free, download-able application that runs on your desktop on allow you to record either 1 specific application or all applications that are running on your desktop into a flash-like file format. With all the podcast and video sharing functionality that is out there today, I'm sure that there are multiple tools out there perform similar functions. But, as long as a client or customer of one your web solutions has the WebEx Recorder installed, and the software/web support team has the WebEx Player installed (mac or ms os supported), it allows your clients and customers to take video screen shots of the unexpected behavior that they may be encountering (including audio if desired). Its easy to zip the recording and either save it to a local network drive or attach it to an email. I have also found it these tools to be useful in creating short video demonstrations or training course to present to colleagues and team members in new technology, functionality, and/or admin processes the past.
Take a look if you're interested WebEx.
